Thanks to engineered design and TYROP's Color-Coded Operation System, the ProPass is the only topdresser on the market that can spread from ULTRA-LIGHT to ULTRA-HEAVY and do it perfectly!

The following will help you understand the function of the components of the ProPass and some tips on maximizing effectiveness.

Adjustment Details

  • Spinner Speed: Controls the width of your spread - fast spinners, wide throw - slow spinners, narrow throw. The volume of sand required for your application is the key factor in ensuring an ideal spinner speed.
  • Floor Control: Getting the sand out is what floor control is all about. For 95% of all applications, the ProPass utilizes maximum floor speed.
  • Tailgate Opening: Volume of sand is controlled with the ProPass's tailgate. Variable heights from 3/8" to 5" allow for precise adjustment to get perfect coverage.
  • Blade Settings: The blades of the ProPass have 2 settings - one for light (A) applications and one for heavier (B). These settings provide a change in deflection angle that ensures a consistent output of material.
  • Slide Adjustment: This patented feature slides the discs forward and back under the hopper to allow sand to be thrown earlier or later in a spinner rotation. This is the final step in getting a perfectly even spread.

Consistent Hydraulic Pressure
For consistent operation of the ProPass it is important to ensure that you have consistent hydraulic flow and pressure to the ProPass. The ideal hydraulic flow to operate the ProPass is 6 gpm (20 lpm), with a hydraulic pressure at approx. 2000 psi.

  • Honda Engine When using a Tow Behind ProPass equipped with a Honda Engine Power Pack Option, ensure that the Honda engine is operating at Maximum rpm.
  • John Deere ProGator When using a ProPass being powered from the auxiliary hydraulics of a John Deere ProGator, ensure the ProGator is at maximum rpm, so it is providing consistent hydraulic flow and pressure. 2nd gear for lighter application, and first gear for heavier applications will provide a safe ground speed at this rpm.
  • Toro Workman When using a ProPass being powered from the auxiliary hydraulics of a Toro Workman, ensure the Workman is at maximum rpm, so it is providing consistent hydraulic flow and pressure. 2nd gear / low range for lighter applications, and first gear / low range for heavier applications will provide a safe ground speed at this rpm.

Level Towing
When towing the ProPass behind a work vehicle, please ensure that the hopper is as parallel to the ground as possible, therefore ensuring the Twin Spinners are angled down at 5 degrees below level (as designed). This will ensure the greatest “canopy penetration” of the spreading material into the grass.

You may adjust the ProPass tongue hitch up, or down, to achieve this “parallel hopper” working position (based upon the height of the tow vehicles draw bar).
